A delusion is a firm belief that isn’t based in reality and can often stem from false information or an altered perception of life or self. A lot of the time delusions can’t be brushed away, as the person with the delusion cannot distinguish the delusion from reality.


what are the effects of being delusional?


Being delusional can have a lot of poor effects on a person, and these can often be difficult to alleviate and remedy, and can require external help! Things like taking care of themselves and initiating social interactions so they aren’t left alone with their thoughts and delusions. Making sure they’re safe and taking care of themselves is one of the most important things you can do. Things like changes in mental state as well can be something to look out for, increased paranoia and depression can rear their heads and affect them, so keeping them safe and grounded in reality will be helpful.
